Hello there, I’m Dr Hamish Caithness.
I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast. After spending several years living and working in London, Brisbane and the Cayman Islands, I decided to return to the region where I grew up.
I now live in the Noosa Hinterland with my wife, young son and miniature schnauzer, enjoying the local community and lifestyle.
I have more than 25 years of experience in dentistry, providing a range of general and restorative dental treatments. My clinical experience includes dental examinations, professional cleaning, fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment, extractions and dental implants.
Over the course of my career, I’ve also undertaken postgraduate dental education, including training in complex and cosmetic dental procedures.
I have a particular clinical interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, including the use of dental photography to assist with treatment planning and communication.
I use portrait and macro photography to help patients view and understand aspects of their dental condition and discuss possible treatment approaches.
My approach focuses on listening to patients, understanding their dental concerns and explaining available treatment options, including their potential benefits, risks and limitations.
I believe clear communication and ongoing professional development are important parts of providing dental care.
Outside dentistry, I enjoy 3D printing, gardening, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
I look forward to continuing to provide dental care to patients from Pomona and the surrounding Noosa Hinterland communities.
